In 2010, Professor Hans Clusmann was appointed Professor and Chairman of the Department of Neurosurgery. After studying at the University of Cologne, he underwent neurosurgical training including specialised intensive care medicine in Bonn from 1994 to 2010. Function and image-guided microsurgery, skull base surgery, epilepsy surgery, treatment of vascular malformations or tumours of skull, brain or spinal cord are Professor Clusmann’s primary specialities. He also places clear emphasis on spinal surgery ranging from microsurgical decompression to complex vertebral fusion and replacement.

The Department of Neurosurgery comprises a motivated team of medical doctors speaking a broad variety of languages. Physicians and nurses are trained for individual contact to international patients to ensure that patients and accompanying persons feel well-informed, well-treated and completely satisfied with our care.
